Situated within the area of settlement in Şıhlar, the remains of the ancient city Seleukeia are located to the northwest of Manavgat.As a final defence and protection site in the case of an attack on Side the city was founded as a fortified citadel.When Side was conquered by pirates in the 2nd century B.C. , lots of people immigrated to Seleukeia.In the Antalya Museum, the statue of Apollon having been built during this era has been exhibited.Acropolis cities lost their previous importance at length in the duration of The Pax Romana. Between two straits has been the walls of the city as the first of the remains. The gate of the city was situated in the middle .And behind the gate is a rectangular agora.

The meetings of the administrative council of the city and the music concerts were held in the odeon ,situated in the southeastern part of agora. A chapel  ,which was built in the duration of the Byzantium era , with an apsis with polygonal external walls of apsis could be seen in the nortwestern part of the Agora .The remains of the Apollon Temple with a cella and marble podiom are in the north of the agora several meters ahead. From the stones of ruined walls in front of the temple one can understand that an inner wall was erected as additional protection from attacks. The remains of a sacred cave were found on the western slope of the land. The remnants of a complex of a Roman bathhouse and various chambers are located on the slope in the west of the cave and a great basilica with marble slabs are situated in the southwest part.
